My name is Ken Hjortsberg. I teach Career Technical Education, more specifically, Computer Science Discoveries. I am beginning my 26th year in education. I am a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a degree in Business Education. After graduating, I moved to Orlando, FL where I taught computer applications for over 15 years. Early in my teaching career, I became the school Technology Coordinator as well as Teacher. I have received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.
My wife and I have been married 20 years and have 3 awesome children. In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, skiing, basketball, watching my 2 sons in baseball and golf, daughter in volleyball and family vacations. I enjoy new experiences, especially what local area resturants have to offer.
I enjoy teaching Computer Science to students they can take with them and apply to real world situations. My goal for all students is to use their gained knowledge in other subject areas as well as life! I look forward to great year at Piedmont Open Middle School.
